It's November and that means Wings900 is about to celebrate it's 11th anniversary! In doing so we've spent nearly 8 months in planning coming up with a model that would be unique and also be something that a vast majority of collectors could enjoy. In doing so, we teamed up with John Boy & Billy Bob and are presenting an Airbus A320-200 in United Airlines "Battleship" Colors.
Last year, one of the main issues we had was things were rushed and we had an unstable checkout system through the Wings900 website. This year, to avoid the mad rush and confusion we have team up with the folks at www.airparadigm.com to use their checkout system to avoid any hassle and confusion. In addition, they are willing to combine any models from their stock to save on shipping! The direct link to order the models is listed below:
There are two versions of this model. The first model is part of the Wings900 Authentication Program and will not exceed 250 pieces. This is the first 1:400 model to use the Wings900 Model Authentication Program and is sure to be a collectable for many years to come and comes for the low price of 24.95.
Another great addition this year, is that last year quantities were restricted to 1 unit per person. We have increased the units to a higher yet still limited number so that this mainstream release can benefit both fleet builders and also that every that desires to own this model should be able to recieve one.
As another year comes to a close here on Wings900, we would like to thank you for your support over the years and hope for many more prosperous years to come! Models are scheduled to ship to be on your doorstep before the Christmas Holiday!
Wings900 is announcing its all new Model Authentication Program!
This program is designed to ensure that collectors are receiving
authentic limited release models from manufacturers and retailers. There
are many ways to forge limited release numbers on model ID cards, and
boxes. With this program you can be confident that the model in your
hands is authentic.
How does this work? - Wings900 will provide two holographic stickers to Manufacturers to include with any limited edition or special model release.
How do two labels with a serial number ensure authenticity? - Only the Wings900 database has the association between serial number and model.
Each unique serial number is assigned a model number in the edition
size. From this information there is no way that a model can be
fraudulent in the collection as each model in the program has a unique
serial number and only the Wings900 system can determine which models
are authentic. Additionally a label from one model can not be affixed
to another model of a different type; this will show up as a
discrepancy when the user goes to authenticate the model. Manufacturers participating in this program contact Wings900 before a
release and request labels. Wings900 records the set of serial numbers
assigned and sends the associated labels to the manufacturer so that
they can be affixed to the model.
What is the Certificate of Authenticity? -
The certificate of authenticity gives you printed proof that your model
is authentic. Additionally your large holographic sticker is attached
to further authenticate and limit fraud.
What will the first model be under this program? - This will be announced on November 3rd, 2008
What models are included under this program? - The Authenticate Page will have a link to display a list of all models covered under this program.
What manufacturers have signed up? - Manufacturer Names will be released in November and December 2008.
We were at the Wings Börse DUS on Saturday May 17th and we were very happy to see all of the memebers and collectors who dropped by to see us and chat - Dutch Dave, Lollomz, British Airways, Silverbird, Ferihegy, Digital, mmu69 among others were all present and spent the day buying selling and trading models.
In case you are not familiar with the show, the Wings Börse DUS is Europe's premium models only show. there are two shows a year - May and October. The next show is October 18th and we will be there. For more information and pictures of the show, please visit the site.
We had a great show and lousy weather - but that helped as what else is there to do on a rainy Saturday?
Some of the highlights of the show were:
Wings900 presented Herpa with a Gold Medal for their outstanding 1:500 scale Condor 757 Rizzi Bird.
In case you haven't seen it or would like to get more information - you can check out Herpa's new HerpaTV report on the model and the real airplane here.
Lollomz bought his first 1:200 scale model and showed off some of his creations
CB Customs was at the show with a spectacular display of his custom models
Herpa was there showing off some of the upcoming models and had a few samples on display as well. you can check some of them out here.
Gert Rosias was the happy winner of our free model giveaway. He won a 1:200 scale Herpa Lufthansa A330!
So a big thank you to all of you who came to see us and see you in October!

Well, it is Spring and the Wings900 team has finally come out of hibernation.... Or almost as we are busy behind the scenes keeping the Wings900 family THE reference when it comes to independent diecast aircraft collectors sites.
Flight Director has been very busy moving the sites to new, more powerful servers where we now have more speed and space for all our model STUFF. He is also busy updating everything under the sun and making sure we are here when you log in.
Waffle has been busy digging up collections and offering them to our members first before putting them on eBay. With an acute nose for good deals, you have to be HERE in order to take advantage of them. The latest find is simply huge and will make very many collectors happy. His DB team (including British Airways and Faucett Peru) have been keeping the model database as up-to-date as possible.
N1786B has been busy surfing and hunting down airline and manufacturer logos. Have you seen the number of logos available lately? We have added over 300 so far this year and are about to reach 5,000 logos! He has also been active helping users and newbies use the Wings900 family of web sites.
We will also be at the May 17th DUS Wings Börse in Düsseldorf Germany. So if you can, come by and see us!
AirlineMuseum.com is having a March Madness Giveaway! During a recent cleaning of the warehouse we found some items we didn't know we had. Some of these models were long ago discontinued, others were single Herpa Wings Club models, so instead of just putting them on the website, we decided to offer them as part of a special giveaway! All you have to do is place an order anytime during the month of March and you will be automatically entered into the drawing. Each order you place counts as an entry, so the more you order, the better your chances! At the end of March, we will randomly draw five names and each of the winners will receive one of the prize models. The drawing will be completed and winners notified the first week of April. Good luck to all.
Here are the prize models:
